Position Summary:

This position is a 100% appointment in the Access Services Department under the general supervision of the Access Services Manager. Performs a wide variety of library services which support the day-to-day operations to provide access to information resources in a variety of formats. Trains and guides student employees. Previous library experience preferred but not required. Seeking candidates with transferable skills and an interest in variety in their daily tasks. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills and experience with detail-oriented work
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, and 10 pounds overhead
  • Ability to push and pull wheeled conveyances weighing up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to perform physical work including reaching, turning, stooping, and twisting


Preferred

  • Knowledge of library public service functions, including circulation processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions
  • Ability to work successfully with multiple teams
  • Ability to supervise the work of employees

Salary range: $18.45-$18.60 per hour

A criminal background check will be completed on final candidate. The selected candidate must be able to pass a post-offer employment test. A six-month probationary period is required.
